Meet Dirt Party
"Dylign treated 500 boxes like a big launch"
— Bella & Krystal, the best-friend duo behind Dirt Party
The story between Dirt Party and us
From a midnight DM to 500 neon-green boxes ready for the shelf.
Dirt Party started as a tiny idea between two best friends, Bella and Krystal. They wanted to use growing plants to send long-distance love. One night, well past midnight, a message from them popped up in our Instagram inbox.
They were looking for a box for their waxed amaryllis bulbs. Not just any box, but something that actually felt like a gift. The catch was simple and very real: they only needed 500. Most suppliers do not even reply to that kind of quantity. For us, this is exactly where Dylign is meant to show up, when a brand is still small, numbers are modest, but the moment still deserves to feel special.
This was Dirt Party’s first time going into a store. Their bulbs were heading to City Planter in Philadelphia, right before the holidays. Money was tight, timing was tight, and they were very clear that they did not want their first appearance on shelf to look patched together. From that late-night DM, we moved into problem-solving mode. In three weeks, the idea that lived in a message thread turned into 500 finished boxes sitting at the door of their plant shop partner.
Because the bulbs have real weight and a bit of fragility, we chose one of our favourite structures from the Dylign toolkit, a B-flute corrugated board that is strong enough to protect, but smooth enough on the outside for bold, clean printing. We kept the structure compact and giftable, wrapped it in neon green with oversized DIRT PARTY lettering so it pops from a distance, and left space on top for the short, cheeky messages that feel like something your friend would write. The box needed to feel more like a present being handed over, and less like a shipping carton passing through.
The result is simple and happy. You open the lid and even a single bulb feels like a complete, thought-through gift. On the shelves at City Planter, the Dirt Party box is doing more than holding product. It is quietly carrying their promise from far away: warmth, care, and a small, bright surprise. For us, this is the kind of project that makes Dylign make sense, a growing packaging partner standing behind growing brands so that their first time on shelf already feels ready for the world.
